Higher emission production: The smell of fuel will be noticeable and there will be a constant, black smoke coming from your pipeline
Abnormally rough idle: A rough idle when you start your vehicle or during stops can be caused when the EGR is constantly open and there is a continuous flow of exhaust gases going back into the intake manifold
You can smell fuel: When there is a continuous flow of exhaust gasses, it could be a indication that your EGR valve is damaged. You will smell excessive fuel coming from your truck
Decreased Engine Performance: If the DPF is blocked, removing the exhaust from the engine can be compromised resulting in your engine feeling weak
Poor Fuel Efficiency: If your engine is not working properly, you will burn more fuel than normal. This is caused either by the DPF being clogged or the fuel burn temperature is running too low because the EGR is not performing properly
Trouble Starting: A blocked DPF creates a buildup of exhaust gas in the engine which builds pressure. This pressure needs to be released in order for your engine to start properly
